I planted curly mustard and collard greens in late spring, but they were "blah" and not even enough to make a nice pot of greens. We have had several cool nights, and they are looking healthy and alive! I am considering covering them tonight because there is a chance of frost. My lettuce did not do well in our scorching heat this summer, but now look very nice. My green and red peppers really had a growth spurt, but I picked them all so the frost wouldn't claim them. I have two bautifull cayenne pepper plants that I am putting in a large flowere pot, and putting it on the patio, then in the house as the weather gets colder.

I wonder if that explains why my spinach isn't doing well? It usually bounces back with another "crop" after I cut the first, leaving the roots in the ground.
Lettuce seems fine; only one heat wave here in NE Wisconsin.
